Common assault (domestic violence) and contravene AVO

HDB is the subject of an apprehended violence order. He was charged with breach of that AVO (Section 14 Crimes (Domestic and Personal Violence) Act 2007) and common assault (Section 61 Crimes Act 1900) following an altercation with his former partner – the protected person – during which it was alleged that he squeezed her neck.

Charges withdrawn and defendant discharged

The charges against HDB were withdrawn before the hearing began. As such, the matter was finalised and HDB was discharged.
