Facts:

KM was charged with possession of cocaine and ecstasy in two separate counts. A conviction would have had debilitating consequences for his burgeoning career as a medical practitioner.

Outcome:

KM pleaded guilty. The focus of the plea was his good character, his excellent reputation and the impact of a conviction on his livelihood and the community expectation. The magistrate dismissed the charges with no recorded conviction.
