Aggregate sentence for several robbery offences: Client RM

Client charged with a number of property related offences

RM was charged with numerous robbery offences at several banks, a pharmacy and petrol station around Sydney.

We assisted RM in his plea negotiation, bail hearings as well as his sentencing hearing at Downing Centre District Court in Sydney’s CBD. Given the large number of offences that he had committed, our client was looking at a total imprisonment period of over 7 years.

The defence successfully obtained an aggregate sentence for RM

The defence was able to obtain a favourable outcome for RM by emphasising on his process of rehabilitation in regards to his drug and alcohol issues. This included obtaining an expert report that outlined his progress in the rehabilitation program he was undertaking.

RM was sentenced to an aggregated term of imprisonment of 3 years with a non-parole period of 9 months. At the date of sentencing, RM had already served the non-parole period which meant that he was eligible to be released on parole.
