CRO for client charged at Lost Paradise Festival

Security finds prohibited drug in client’s possession

CN was charged with possession of two prohibited drugs at the Lost Paradise Festival at Glenworth Valley, west of Gosford on NSW’s Central Coast.

A security guard approached CN and conducted a search on her. The security guard found a Kinder Surprise capsule on CN, which contained the prohibited drugs MDMA and Ketamine. CN was escorted to Police and was arrested for possession of drugs (section 10 Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985 (NSW)).

Outcome: Conditional Release Order

O’Brien Criminal and Civil Solicitors represented CN who entered a plea of guilty for the two matters of drug possession. Our submissions were accepted by His Honour when determining the appropriate penalty. With a successful outcome, CN was sentenced to a Community Release Order without conviction for a period of six months, pursuant to s 9(1)(b) of the Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Act 1999 (NSW).
