RM – Successful bail application for client charged with fraud

Facts:

The NSW Police Force alleged that RM was part of a criminal syndicate engaged in fraud related offences. The police alleged that he was residing at the place where the property was found which therefore linked him to the syndicate.

RM was on parole at the time that the alleged offences had been committed. As a result, he had to show cause why his incarceration was not justified and that bail should be granted.

Outcome:

O’Brien Criminal and Civil Solicitors represented RM in his bail application before Central Local Court in Sydney. The defence successfully demonstrated significant weaknesses in the evidence against the client to establish to the court that incarceration was not justified. The defences case was that bail risks could be managed with appropriate conditions.

He was granted bail in relation to 37 fraud related offences.
