Assault and criminal damage
MRT lived with the complainant at a youth hostel. The two were about to go shopping together when they began to verbally argue. In the course of the argument the complainant locked herself in her room, while MRT banged on the door. There were also allegations that MRT shoved the complainant, and damaged her door.
Police charged MRT with assault and criminal damage.
Weak testimony
During the contested hearing, we cast doubt on the testimony of the complainant. There was very little witness or photographic evidence of the allegations, so the weakened testimony resulted in MRT being found not guilty of all three charges.
