Pub Altercation Escalates to Physical Violence

What Happened

Jack*, a young individual, was involved in an altercation outside of a pub where he became aggressive towards another person. The manager of the pub tried to escort Jack out, but Jack ended up assaulting the manager.

The second incident occurred a few days later when Jack assaulted a pub employee. Police were called to the scene and Jack fled, leading them to apprehend him while he was running through a nearby park. At the time of apprehension, the police alleged that Jack had a small knife on him.

Outcome

Jack received a 12-month suspended sentence and a community service order of 200 hours. During the hearing the allegation of the knife was found unproven. Consequently the magistrate dismissed the charge of custody of a knife in public.
