Early Career & Education
Peter’s early career combined law and community development, with roles focused on intercultural community development and adult education.
This early engagement reflects his strong foundation in both legal practice and cross-cultural communication.
Current Practice Area
Peter has over 20 years of experience practicing law and working in community engagement across the Northern Territory and NSW.
After spending more than a decade as a solicitor with the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA), he then practiced at the private bar in the Northern Territory for 10 years.
During his time at the bar, Peter maintained a diverse practice, regularly appearing in the Coronial Jurisdiction, and taking on criminal matters (including jury trials and appeals), police tort claims, administrative law matters, disciplinary tribunals, Commissions of Inquiry, and SafeWork prosecutions.
Professional Approach & Interest Areas
Peter’s work is driven by a commitment to social justice advocacy and enhancing access to justice for First Nations people.
A consistent theme throughout his career is his strong interest in intercultural communication, particularly with clients and communities from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
His professional approach blends legal excellence with community-focused engagement, grounded in empathy, cultural understanding, and advocacy for equitable justice outcomes.
