False allegations made against client
AC was the head of a sports organisation. She was subject to a large degree of bullying and harassment by the other directors in the organisation, which caused her to resign. After she resigned, they made false allegations to the Police about her.
Police arrest AC without investigating allegations
The Police asked AC to attend the station. When she arrived, they arrested her despite not adequately investigating whether AC actually committed the crime of which she was accused. AC took part in a record of interview where she explained the circumstances. As a result they released her from custody. AC approached O’Brien Criminal and Civil Solicitors to enquire into any claims of recourse she might have against the Police.
We helped AC successfully sue the police for false arrest. The matter settled out of Court, with an outcome in favour of AC.
