Facts: Medical practitioner gives evidence against school at Royal Commission
O’Brien Solicitors’ client, a medical practitioner, was summonsed as a witness before the Royal Commission. This was in order to give evidence relating to complaints of sexual abuse at a school in the 1980s. In the course of our client’s work at that time, the child victim of the incident had disclosed the facts of the abuse to him. The school at the centre of the complaints is a highly prestigious independent Sydney school.
Result: school will probably have an adverse finding
O’Brien Solicitors assisted our client in the preparation of his appearance and when he gave evidence. Findings are anticipated against the school.
