Possession of a prohibited drug at a music festival

At a music festival, police were performing a general drug dog operation. Sam*  was stopped by police due to the sniffer dog giving indication that Sam was holding a prohibited substance. He was then found with one capsule of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA).

SS was charged with possession of a prohibited drug at a music festival. This was under section 10 Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985 (NSW).

Outcome: Conditional Release Order 

Our lawyers represented Sam who entered a plea of guilty for possession of a prohibited drug.

Sam received the best possible outcome of a 12-month conditional release order, without conviction, of good behaviour. This was pursuant to section 9(1)(b) of the Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Act 1999 (NSW).
