Contravene prohibition/restriction in an ADVO, Crimes (Domestic and Personal Violence) Act 2007 section 14(1) – grandmother/granddaughter – not guilty
Facts:
RM was the granddaughter of the alleged victim. The grandmother had an ADVO out against RM. One of the conditions of the ADVO was that RM was not allowed within 100m of her grandmother’s residence or workplace.
RM allegedly breached this condition by attending her grandmother’s unit and knocking on the door, before being let in. Shortly after being let in her grandmother asked her to leave. RM immediately left the apartment.
Result:
O’Brien Solicitors helped RM contest the charge. She was ultimately found not guilty.
