Early Career & Education
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi, Anavi completed her Juris Doctor at the University of New South Wales in 2024.
Prior to joining O’Brien’s, Anavi volunteered as a Legal Assistant at the Redfern Legal Centre.
She has also contributed to several human rights organisations in Delhi, including the India HIV/AIDS Alliance and the International Committee of the Red Cross. In addition, Anavi facilitated Expressive Arts Theatre workshops for female inmates at Tihar Jail, India’s largest prison.
Current Practice Area
As a full-time civil solicitor at the firm, Anavi’s practice focuses on a broad range of civil litigation matters. She represents and advises clients in areas including:
- Historical sexual abuse claims;
- Police accountability matters, including false imprisonment and malicious prosecution;
- General civil litigation across all jurisdictions;
- Sexual abuse in correctional facilities;
- Racial discrimination matters.
